Canadian fashion designer Christopher Bates officially announces his celebrated menswear line is now retailing with Breuninger, Germany’s leading luxury department store.

With stores being closed due to the pandemic the Christopher Bates Spring/Summer 2021 men’s collection is available exclusively on Breuninger.com, one of the most sought-after online destinations for premium and luxury fashion and lifestyle. Canadian Menswear Designer Christopher Bates Is Announcing a New Collaboration with PFAFF

Christopher Bates, Canadian menswear designer, is thrilled to announce a new fashion collaboration with legendary Canadian automotive brand PFAFF this season.

The PFAFF x CHRISTOPHER BATES collection is made in Italy with luxurious materials and artisanal level craftsmanship. It focuses on elevated basics and comfort, with subtle touches that reference Bates’ passion for high performance automobiles.

The unisex capsule collection features sporty trousers, t-shirts, and sweaters.

Christopher Bates: Introducing the Ultimate Weekender Bag

Canadian menswear designer Christopher Bates has launched a series of limited edition, hand-made weekender bags inspired by the heritage and design of classic sports cars. The bag is designed in Canada and handmade in a small, highly specialized factory in Northern Italy. The initial run of 100 bags has some very special characteristics.

Each bag features an embossed production number 001 to 100 as each edition will be limited.

Military grade RFID fabric lines the outside pocket for an added level of security, while two-tone deviated stitching inspired by sports car steering wheels adorns the leather handles.

With this edition, the custom tartan exterior fabric is the designer's nod to the classic interiors from the ‘80’s from a special car maker.

Characteristics of the Weekender bag by Christopher Bates:

-Shell is made from a durable, water-repellant cotton blend (68% cotton, 32% polyamide);

Christopher Bates Fashion Show, Fall-Winter 2017-2018

FashionCAN, the newest event on the fashion scene in Toronto, was a two-day venture hosted by Yorkdale Mall that took place this week, on February 28th and March 1st. Established and emerging Canadian designers had the opportunity to showcase their newest collections for the upcoming Fall-Winter 2017-2018 season during this event which is a fortunate replacement of now defunct Toronto Fashion Week that was demised in July 2016 due to lack of financial support. It was only a matter of time when someone rebuilt a new fashion stage in Toronto for the Canadian designers to showcase their fashions, and the new FashionCAN has now attracted the old friends gathering together again, just like they used to do at Toronto Fashion Week up until a year ago.

This year's participants at the new fashion festival hosted by Yorkdale Mall have been Jennifer Torosian, UNTTLD, Rudsak, Whitney Linen, Christopher Bates, Paul Hardy, Michael Kale, Tara Riva, Bojana Sentaler, Lamarque, Narces, Bustle.

I had the pleasure to attend Christopher Bates' show at FashionCAN this Wednesday, March 1st. Christopher's new ready-to-wear men's collection for Fall-Winter 2017-2018 is made in Italy and it's inspired by Italian lifestyle, as the designer himself moved to Milan three years ago to expand his brand globally. Creating new collections for each season is not the only achievement of Christopher's. He has also created two lines of shoes recently, with large Canadian retailers such as Browns and Harry Rosen. Also, he created the uniforms for Air Canada employees, to be introduced with the air company later this year. The fashion show at Yorkdale Mall showcased not only Christopher Bates' new collection for the upcoming fall-winter season, but also the new collection of uniforms for Air Canada.

Swarovski Unveils the New Collection for Fall-Winter 2014-2015 in Toronto

Recently Swarovski invited fashion media from Toronto to preview the new collection of jewelry and accessories for the upcoming Fall-Winter 2014-2015 season during a fabulous event that took place at Gardiner Museum in Toronto last month (on April 30th). Gardiner Museum is a venue that hosted Swarovski events in the past as well, I attended one of them back in 2011. So this time I had the pleasure of revisiting the museum for yet another Swarovski presentation, along with a friend of mine. The new collection features both women’s and men’s jewelry and accessories, and it will be available in stores and online at Swarovski.com later this year, in August-September 2014.

Christopher Bates at Toronto Fashion Week, March 2014

Another season of World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week is now over. The most important fashion event in our city this spring took place, like usually, at David Pecaut Square, from March 17th to March 21st. Among the participant designers at Toronto Fashion Week this season who showed their new collections for the upcoming Fall-Winter 2014-2015 were Mikhael Kale, VAWK, Laua Siegel, David Dixon, Christopher Bates, Klaxon Howl, Pink Tartan, Joe Fresh, Mackage, Triarchy, Farley Chatto, Rudsak, and others.

Canadian menswear designer Christopher Bates’ show took place on the main runway on Wednesday, March 19th, at 3 PM. The show started with a short film produced by the designer himself, as an introduction to the new collection called “Noctem” and inspired by Oscar Wilde’s writing, specifically by the character Dorian Gray. Then the models took the runway. The key elements of the new collection by Christopher Bates, which in our opinion is his best so far, are dark, black, leather.

Many of the models who strut Christopher Bates’ designs at Toronto Fashion Week work closely with the designer and come back in each of his shows, season after season, but new models are introduced at each Toronto Fashion Week as well. Age is not an issue for Christopher Bates when it comes to choosing the models to show his designs on the runway – twenty-something and up will do. This season, the most surprising apparition on the runway during Christopher Bates’ fashion show was the white-bearded gentleman who modeled a couple of the outfits with just the same grace and elegance as his peers who may be 20 or 30 years younger than him. Definitely not a conventional way to show a collection at a fashion week. Well done sir, hats off!
