About the designer

Launched in 2008 by Los Angeles-based designer/sculptor Samira Sizdahkhani, Samira 13 Fine Jewelry is a stunningly original collection of necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets made from unorthodox combinations of distressed metals, rose, yellow and white gold, tattered silks and chiffons, raw leathers, uncut polished diamonds and Tahitian South Sea pearls. Samira Sizdahkhani began designing at age twelve in the workshop of her mother's famed D.C. fashion mecca, Tabandeh. Exposed early to the ethos of cross-cultural design and driven by a personal desire for versatility, the designer closes the gap between casual and formal, creating architectural designs inspired by primitivism, tribal cultures, monasticism and dreams of ancient Persian nomadic treks. The collection, which retails from $300-$10,000, is available in her newly-launched eponymous boutique at 8661 Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood; 8 Fifteen in Indianapolis; Alan Bilzerian in Boston; Assembly in New York City. Celebrity fans of the Samira 13 collection include Kate Moss and Jessica Alba.
