[GUEST STORY] Handpicked Fall 2016 Shoe Trends for Every Girl

Today's story is a guest post by fashion blogger Suzy Walsh, author of the blog The House of Elegance Fashion. Please help us welcome Suzy on our blog, and we hope you'll enjoy the story!

 **********

Every season, we have a fresh lease of trends and ideas, which are inspired from the past and promise to define the future of fashion. If you are someone like me, you probably take a look at the top trends and create statements of your own. That’s what fashion should be. It is about getting inspired and trying new ideas from the runways. After all, you have to interpret and create a style statement that’s extremely personal to you. To make that simple, we have enlisted the best handpicked trends from fall 2016. In short, these are the three most wearable trends worth trying.
Back to block: Let’s start with the first trend of the season, which is block heels. There was a time when stilettos ruled the ramp and beyond. Women would do anything and everything to own that one pair of high end heels, which is more like a classic for parties, events and even office. Thankfully, we now have flatforms, platforms and block heels as smart replacements. Fall 2016 mainly had block heels that created an instant impression, balancing style and comfort. Just add a pair of trousers, a nice top, and you can carry off your block heels sans any fashion misses. For amazing tights and tops, click here.
Stylish girl: Everyone loves that extra bit of element in their shoes, and that’s where you can get those amazing pairs that boast of embroidery, sequins, jewellery influences and much more. A lot of designers worked with the stylish ideas, adding more uniqueness even to the daily pairs we know. Such shoes look best when teamed with casual clothing, and if you have purchased something upscale, you can choose to store that for the next happening party. There are many options in embellished and decked up shoes on online stores, so you don’t need to spend a fortune.
Velvet for me: Well, velvet is easily the most picked and used material of the season, and it has been seen in clothing and accessories of fall 2016, as well. What’s great about velvet is the fact that you can experiment with minimalistic designs and extreme ideas at the same time. If you want your shoes to get all the attention, just choose a knee high pair of boots and team it with something low key to maintain a balance. Velvet shoes also look good when you choose a simpler but lush colour, and hence, it all depends on your personal tastes and preference.
Finally, before we leave, we would like to bring attention to mules, which were quite news on the runways. If you like simple slip-in shoes, this is the best bet you have in terms of comfort. Until we meet again, stay in style and keep the smile on!

SheIn Wishlist

Bridesmaid Dresses London
I was browsing SheIn.com recently and I saw lots of great styles that caught my eye, so for today's story I thought to put together a wishlist of SheIn items that I would like to share with you – dresses, skirts, shoes, bags, jewelry.

My favorite style of dresses are the bodycon dresses, so I started browsing the dresses section first. Soon I will be starting a new job, so I thought I could do with a couple of new dresses, and I see the bodycon style as the most appropriate style of dresses for an office environment.

I find these two dresses are versatile enough to be worn at work and outside work. But I am also a big fan of skirts, especially the flared ones, :) and the different print skirts from SheIn are just absolutely adorable!

A girl can never have too many shoes. I have already enough black shoes in my shoe closet, both for summer and for winter, so next time when I buy a new pair of shoes, I want them to make a stronger and a more colorful statement, like these ones.

As to bags, the more whimsical, the better. Each of these two bags will totally make a day-time outfit sparkle and shine. I have always been in love with these out of the box styles of bags and purses. It's all about accessories.

Last but not least, the jewelry. I love statement necklaces, it's the perfect way to style up any outfit. If I wear a little black dress or a pencil skirt, a statement necklace will make it shine.

What do you think of these items? Have you shopped at SheIn.com lately?

This is also an anniversary story, as it's the story #500 on my blog. :)

A New Hotspot Downtown Toronto – Mila’s Fine Footwear on Front Street

Mila’s Fine Footwear is a family owned shoe retailer established in 1932. Recently they announced an exclusive meet-and-greet and trunk show at their new downtown Toronto location (77 Front St. E., Toronto, ON) situated in the middle of the city’s picturesque St. Lawrence neighbourhood.
The shoe boutique would celebrate the launch of their brand new location with a preview on July 20th, with shoe brand representatives on site, ahead of their official grand opening later this summer. Fashion media from Toronto were invited to this event, and they would meet the family and staff behind Mila’s Fine Footwear, as well as brand ambassadors from some of the major shoe brands they carry in-house such as Birkenstock, Finn Comfort, Josef Seibel, Cloud and Gerry Weber, Fly London, Pikolinos and Ara. Ambassadors would be giving guests an exclusive sneak peek at some of the Fall-Spring 2016-2017 styles and trends to expect at Mila’s Fine Footwear in the upcoming seasons.

“We’re very excited to bring Mila’s Fine Footwear to the vibrant and fashion-forward people of Toronto,” says owner, Vishal Hussain. “We look forward to giving shoppers what they crave most – an intimate, engaging, one-on-one customer service experience catered to their personal footwear needs.”

Bringing their small town charm to the big city, Mila’s Fine Footwear is looking to win the hearts of Torontonians with the legacy that has garnered them over 80 years of success in the footwear industry. Since starting back in 1932, they’ve been best known for their exceptional one-on-one client service by providing a unique shopping experience that’s rarely found in larger chain stores today. The team at Mila’s Fine Footwear believe in empowering their clients with proper shoe size education and product history to ensure that each customer walks away with a pair of shoes that is right for their individual needs, lifestyle and personal taste. They believe in providing clients with shoes that have superior quality and comfort without compromising style, and in order to do so they proudly sell and partner with some of the highest quality brands across North America and Europe.

“Our inventory is reflective of what we want to achieve in Toronto, which is educating our consumers that you can still lead busy lives with impeccable style,” says Hussain. “Europeans have been able to master style and comfort in an extraordinary way, which is why we stock some of the best European brands in footwear.”

Mila’s Fine Footwear is an independently owned family business that’s been passed along for four generations. From their humble start in Aden, Yemen, the family decided to take their business to Canada in 1967, starting out fresh in the small town of Strathroy, Ontario, in 1989. After 27 years of establishing themselves as a true success and staple in their community, Mila’s Fine Footwear was overdue for an exciting, new challenge. With an incredible offer to move their store in the heart of downtown Toronto, it was an opportunity the family couldn’t pass up. Now hot on the heels in their new store on Front Street, Mila’s Fine Footwear is eager to share their love of comfortable, sophisticated footwear with Toronto. Their legacy dates back to 1932, at a time when the family took pride in offering superior customer service and satisfaction. This stands true today as they proudly open Mila’s Fine Footwear in the heart of Toronto, at 77 Front Street East (MilasonFront.com).

I was invited to the meet and greet and trunk show event on July 20th, so earlier this week I went downtown to see the new Mila’s Fine Footwear store on Front Street and to meet the team who run the business. It was a perfect way to spend a hot summer afternoon, and I really enjoyed being present at this event and meet the team from the store. Sure thing, it will become one of my new favorite shopping hotspots when I want a new pair of quality shoes.

Guests were gifted with a pair of fine shoes, and this is my gift from Mila's Fine Footwear.
I was wearing a royal blue Ralph Lauren bodycon dress on that day which got me a few compliments at the event, and when I was asked to choose a pair of shoes that I would like to receive as a gift from the store, for the new opening celebration, I was suggested to go for these colored beauties, because they spoke to me. I listened to the advise and chose them out of all available shoes in the store. Besides being so cheerful, perfect to complete a summer outfit, they are also very comfortable. I wore them that very day; the staff in the store encouraged me to walk out of the store wearing them, when I leave the event, I did just that. I put my old shoes in a box, and I wore my new shoes for the remainder of the day. The name of the brand is Florentine, and they are made in Spain. And here's me, with my new shoes, later that day.

LOFT Presents the New Collection for Spring-Summer 2015

Last week (on Thursday, April 16th) I was invited to see the new collection for spring-summer 2015 by LOFT and to browse through the new styles, prints and colors that are going to be available in LOFT stores across Toronto soon. The event took place at Edelman PR, the public relations company that represents the LOFT brand in Toronto, at their offices from 150 Bloor Street West in Toronto. I made it to the presentation during my lunch hour from work, and I had the opportunity to see the new collection -- apparel, accessories, scarves, jewelry, shoes. The inspiration for the new LOFT collection comes from geometrical prints, florals and color blocking. One of the malls in Toronto where LOFT is available is Toronto Eaton Centre downtown the city.

And this is how the new collection for spring-summer 2015 from LOFT looks like.

And a nice sweet gift from LOFT
