Tré Armstrong Joins Two Summer Entertainment Events This Week

Choreographer, actress and mentor Tré Armstrong will host Toronto’s Youth Day 2012, on Sunday July 22nd at Dundas Square. Coming off her duties as judge on CTV’s “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” show and combining her years of dance, both performing and teaching, Ms. Armstrong was the perfect choice to take on hosting duties. The talented choreographer will host from 6 pm to 9 pm tonight. Dancers from Tré’s A New DAEI studio will perform at the event. A New DAEI studio will also have a booth at Dundas Square. The Yonge Street closure allows Youth Day 2012 to offer artisan booths, over 10 hours of non-stop performances, youth art, a photography gallery, fashion show, a Sports Meet & Greet, and a Headliner performance finale.

Next, the versatile Ms. Armstrong will be apart of the Coke Olympics “Move to the Beat” bus tour, on Wednesday, August 1st at Dundas Square in Toronto. Tré is honored to be a part of Coke’s exciting cross-Canada tour, herself a mentor, knowing the value that dance can bring to today’s youth. Dancers from A New DAEI studio will perform. So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Tré Armstrong Gives Back

Tré Armstrong has channeled her passion for dance into a successful career and this is what she's doing with it.

Torontonian choreographer, actress and TV personality, Tré Armstrong has a busy summer ahead of her. Not only is Tré returning as a judge on CTV's So You Think You Can Dance Canada show on Monday June 20th, but also her not-for-profit foundation, the “Tré Armstrong Gives Back” Foundation, is preparing for a very special event. A New DAEI presents the "GIVE BACK!!!" – a one-day free event put on by Tré’s dance company A New Dance Academy for the Entertainment Industry and held to make dance and creative artistic expression accessible to people across Canada and to inspire people to pursue their artistic hopes, dreams and passions. Some of the dance and movement styles that will be offered at this event will be Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Bollywood, Salsa, Cha Cha, Contemporary and more!!! Also teaching alongside Tre’ will be some of CTV's So You Think You Can Dance Canada Top 20 competitors, including finalist and runner-up, Amanda Cleghorn. Any donations at the event will go to the “Tré Armstrong Give Back” Foundation and proceeds will go to Dance Performing Arts Programming across Canada. The event will take place on Sunday July 10th, at Canada's National Ballet School, 400 Jarvis street, Toronto.

Tré's love and understanding of urban dance and hip-hop has brought out the inner teacher in the artist and has allowed her to travel the world sharing this knowledge through workshops, seminars and classes in hip-hop, urban and freestyle dance; and now it's time to give back, and Tré is bringing it home.

Tré's competence and work ethic has made her a “go to” choreographer for various artists, including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kreesha Turner, Sarah Brightman, Jason Derulo, So You Think You Can Dance Canada show, MTV, and the just completed choreography for Ludacris' new Breakaway music video. And now, the talented artist brings not only her dance skills, but life skills to the participating youth, firmly believing, by instilling confidence through performing arts, that there is no stopping what they can accomplish. Life is a journey and the responsibility of all of us.
